    suddenly i was too warm : )

it was beautiful today …. and it really did start cold.

i realize it’s been forever since i’ve posted … or just 10 days, but who’s counting. i like it when i log in & see all sorts of updated blogs to read. tonight though, i forced myself, forced is a strong word … probably too strong. tonight i told myself i must post here before reading all of yours.

we’re in our third week of paid family leave. its the nice free sort of free vacation the state gives you for having a baby and time to bond afterwards. we’ve never done it before. this time around it just worked out … or really God knew we needed it & put every detail into perfect place to make it happen.

i’m loving it even more than i thought i would : ) you know how it can be when you’re used to one way of life where he is gone & working & comes home at night vs 24/7 living together …..
sometimes, just sometimes that can be challenging. so far there has been very little challenge & i’m trying to figure out how we could do this full time ???? be together all the time & still be able to buy groceries!

our days & especially nights have been spent turning our shed into a school room. i’ll have pictures on that soon. i really can’t believe it!

so the day after we finish it & the day before classes start …. boom, chicken pox.

    : )

yep …. they’re dropping like fly’s around here.

and just like that – it’s more vacation, baby. we need a fresh movie supply.

and then there he is …. so far he’s been a fan of all this family bonding.  except for now there’s been a temporary ban on the closeness of the bonding as we’d reallyreally like to avoid him getting chicken pox!!

they were off to do something great ….

until then we’ll see how long it’ll be before we can reenter society!

all those phone pics are so cute. cracked me up the one did…looks like strawberry shortcake using the potty? just the sort of thing that happens when you have small ones.
so sorry for the pox! but, having the whole family together whether sick or not sounds like a most wonderful state of being!

  • ohhh i like that your state gives you paid family time to bond with your child. that is a beautiful thing.i’m glad that you are loving every minute of being able to have Rex around all the time, i’m sure it will be wierd to have him return to work. i’m so glad that you are able to have this time with chad and your other littles though. i love those pics of your older kids setting out on an adventure…they always look so eager to learn to me…and regs and her daddy coloring was such a precious capture. love it. thank you for sharing what’s been going on inyour world Alli. i really love hearing your updates.

  • uh oh- the pox! lol

Your little guy is soooo cute!

If you figure out how everyone can stay home and still pay the bills let me know, I’m gonna want in on that. ;D

  • I love the strawberry shortcake in the toilet. That made me laugh right out loud!!

Blessings to you. I hope the chicken pox are short lived and that sweet baby Chad doesn’t get them.

  • can’t wait to see the school room! what a blessing!!! we enjoyed a few weeks of family leave the last time around and it was wonderful!

hope the chicken pox go as quickly as possible and you find some fun movies to keep them occupied~

  • I can’t wait to see the new schoiol room.

We were in the midst of a chicken pox epidemic when our 4th child was born. The children could not come to the hospital to see her, which nearly broke my heart. 10 days after she was born, she broke out. I was breastfeeding and quite certain God wouldn’t let that happen when it seemed I already had more than enough on my plate, but…she only got about 10 pox total, was slightly fussy, and still has a few scars to prove it. Whew! Am I glad that’s over!

  • hope the crew gets over the chicken pox soon and you get to use your new schoolroom!  Can’t wait to see pictures of it.
FWIW, I supposedly got chickenpox when I was a baby and only got like two pox and never had them sense even though I’ve been given plenty of chances to get them.  The younger you are I think the less you get maybe?
